Challenge
In pre-covid times, most of the transactions in college canteens and shops were cash based and therefore transactions were exhaustive to maintain. Furthermore, students also had to withdraw cash from ATMs to get day-to-day activities done.
Solution
To promote cashfree economy in the college campus, we came up with a solution which enable transactions within campus boundaries to happen through the ID card, with the students having an application where they can maintain their virtual wallets.
The project can be divided into two parts, the hardware side of it and the software side. The hardware side was developed on top of Arduino Microcontroller with keypad for the shop employees to enter the amount and NFC Reader to identify each student based on the information stored in their identity card.
On the software end, an application was developed with backend to enable students to login to their account and keep track of the transcation they had done and to add money to the virtual wallet for future transactions.
